Can credit cards got in india be used in USA for online purchase.Is there any extra charge for that?

if i have got my credit card which i got in india can i use that to buy online in USA? also for mail in rebates will they deposit in my indian account.Iam asking this since my stay in USA is going to be short so iam confused about mail in rebates
