Bankrupt. 5 yrs ago. But my lawyer wants money from me, if I give it to him can he back date the discharge??

Just found out that my lawyer has not discharge a my bankrupty and wants some owed money. My falt. I want to get the discharge dated years ago so I don't have to wait another 6 or 7 years to clear my now good credit history. Is this legal and can he do this for me??
